Search For Missing OC Teen Ends After 6 Days

Orange County Sheriff's Department said they will end a search for Blaze Bernstein, an Ivy League student who came home for the holidays.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA -- Orange County Sheriff's Department on Monday said they will end the on-foot search for Blaze Bernstein, an Ivy League student who came home for the holidays. Bernstein hasn't been seen since last Tuesday.

NBC News reported that more than 20 deputies searched Whiting Ranch for days without luck and that an Orange County Sheriff's spokesperson said investigators would "continue to pursue leads into Bernstein’s disappearance."

Bernstein, 19, is a student at the University of Pennsylvania. Family said he cooked dinner Tuesday before he disappeared.

At 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, he texted a friend about meeting up. The friends arrived at nearby Borrego Park at 10:30 p.m. Bernstein was last seen when he went into the park by himself. The location device on Bernstein's phone stopped working at 11:30 p.m.

Bernstein has blue eyes, brown hair, is 5-feet-8 and weighs 130 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored jacket, dark gray long-sleeved zip-up and white Adidas shoes when last seen.
