Video: Fastest Toy in Lake Forest Hobby Shop

Yesteryear's comparatively clunky cars and planes have been upstaged by models that travel 100 mph and up.

To see the quickest toy in action, you have to look up. The Phase 3 Squall is a hand-launched jet propelled by an electric duct fan. And it flies at 120 mph.

If you're worried about such a fast object in the hands of just anyone, don't be. Flying them legally requires a license from the Academy of Model Aeroneutronics, Silzle said.

Silzle is part of the Orange Coast Radio Control Club, one of the state's oldest RC clubs. It has 400 members, Silzle said. You can catch the club in action from sunrise to sunset every day of the week at the Great Park, opposite the hot air balloon.
