Watch: Firefighters Make Unusual Rescue From Ladera Ranch Treetop
It's not just kittens that get stuck in trees.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — They rescue people from burning homes, horses fallen in ravines, ducks from storm drains, and kittens from freeways and trees, naturally. Sometimes they'll even rescue the occasional German Shepherd stuck on an uppermost tree branch.
But it's a rare day when a bird needs firefighters to rescue it from a treetop.
And that rare day happened Tuesday in Ladera Ranch where Orange County Fire Authority's Truck 56 crew saved a crow in distress.

A firefighter climbed the ladder to a treetop where a crow was entangled in sewing thread. He freed the bird, which quickly flapped to freedom as the neighborhood children cheered.
All in a day's work.
