Week Ahead Thru July 28: Rick Warren, Vertical Primate
Some things in the week ahead that might be of interest to residents of Lake Forest.

Taking a look at things you might need to know this week in Lake Forest.
• Rick Warren begins preaching Saturday, marking the first time the Saddleback Church pastor has taught since the death of his son in April. Warren will speak both Saturday and Sunday on the topic, "How to Get Through What You're Going Through."
• Family movie night at the Etnies Skatepark on Friday, 7 p.m., will show Most Vertical Primate 2. How did we miss the first one? There's a special guest as well. Cost is free, but they're taking donations for the skatepark.
• The Orange County Fair continues Wednesday through Sunday with its annual collection of pig races, freaky fried food, carnival rides, exhibits and more. Click here for schedules, directions and other information.
• What's a few miles for surfers? The Vans U.S. Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach continues through Sunday. Monday's events include a screening of "The Goonies" and Round 1 of the men's competition. There's also plenty of skateboarding action. For a schedule of events, click here.
• Ever wonder what your pet goes through when it's locked in the car? Armed with a thermometer, video camera and (we hope) lots of antiperspirant, a Patch Editor Plays ‘Pet in a Hot Car.’
