Caldecott Tunnel Overnight Bore Closures Scheduled This Week

The first closure is Tuesday night followed by another overnight closure Thursday night, Caltrans said.

CONTRA COSTA AND ALAMEDA COUNTIES, CA — Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures this week of the eastbound number one bore and westbound number four bore of the State Route 24 Caldecott Tunnel between Orinda and Oakland.

Eastbound Bore No. 1 Closed Overnight Tuesday, Feb. 7

The No. 1 eastbound bore on SR-24 through the tunnel is scheduled for temporary closure for tunnel maintenance work from 10 p.m. Tuesday until 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Westbound Bore No. 4 Closed Overnight Thursday, Feb. 9

The No. 4 westbound bore on SR-24 through the tunnel is scheduled for temporary closure for tunnel maintenance work starting at 10 p.m. Thursday until 4:30 a.m. Friday.

Traffic Control Measures

Caltrans will have changeable message signs in place to assist motorists traveling through the area and said motorists should expect delays and allow extra time.

During the work, Caltrans will keep all other bores open in each direction.
