City Of Orinda Asks Restaurant Owners To Donate Surplus Food
Restaurants and catering companies in Orinda are being asked by the city to donate their surplus food to the nonprofit White Pony Express.

ORINDA, CA -- If you own a restaurant or catering company in Orinda and have surplus food that you don't know what to do with, city officials have a request.
Local restaurants and catering companies are being invited by the City of Orinda to donate their surplus food to White Pony Express, a Pleasant Hill-based nonprofit that provides healthy food to needy area residents.
Upon receipt, the food would distributed – free of charge – to dozens of nonprofit partners and school pantries that serve the hungry.

When giving food to White Pony Express, donors can help end food insecurity and reduce the production of methane gas caused by rotting food in landfills.
