Deputies Find Assault Rifles, Ammunition in Bay Point
An investigation nabbed two arrests and more than a dozen firearms in unincorporated Bay Point last week.
BAY POINT - An investigation nabbed two arrests and more than a dozen firearms in unincorporated Bay Point last week, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.
The weapons were found after a search warrant was served at a home in the 800 block of Steffa Street around 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff's officials said.
During the search, law enforcement personnel located eight assault rifles, an assault shotgun, six rifles, two shotguns and a pistol, sheriff's officials said.

Twenty-five high capacity magazines and around 1,400 rounds of ammunition were also allegedly found.
Richard Mulvaney, 54, and Patricia Rubio, 46, were arrested on suspicion of various firearm offenses and were booked into Martinez Detention Facility, sheriff's officials said.

This followed an investigation by the Contra Costa County Anti-Violence Support Effort, a joint team that includes the California Department of Justice, the California Highway Patrol, the county sheriff's office along with Pittsburg and Walnut Creek police.
