A local nonprofit aimed at reducing food waste and food need is hosting a Dumplings for Good workshop and fundraiser​ Sunday in Lafayette.

LAMORINDA, CA — A local nonprofit aimed at reducing food waste and food need is hosting a Dumplings for Good workshop and fundraiser Sunday in Lafayette.

Home chefs will be on hand to share the traditions, techniques, and stories of dumpling-making passed down through generations, according to the White Pony Express, the nonprofit hosting the event from 4-6 p.m.

Attendees will roll up their sleeves to make their own dumplings and spend time in a community committed to food security.

Food security is the long-term goal of the Concord-based White Pony Express, which distributes surplus food and goods to people in need instead of Contra Costa County landfills.

The event will be at the Lafayette United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall, 955 Moraga Road.
