Bald eagle in Lafayette. (Kevin Moss)

LAFAYETTE, CA — Patch reader Kevin Moss sent in this photo of a bald eagle atop a tree at the Lafayette Reservoir.

The picture was taken around Saturday morning, Feb. 8.

Did you know that last winter, for the first time in nearly 40 years of annual surveys, biologists and rangers observed bald eagles at all four monitored East Bay reservoirs —Briones, San Pablo, Lafayette, and Upper San Leandro — as well as at Pardee and Camanche reservoirs upcountry?
