ORINDA, CA — In a new tradition, Miramonte High School's Class of 2023 went back to their Orinda elementary schools for the first-ever Miramonte Cap and Gown Parade.

Dressed in their regal caps and gowns, the graduating seniors returned to all four Orinda elementary schools — Del Rey, Glorietta, Sleepy Hollow and Wagner Ranch — where they reconnected with former teachers and enjoyed the admiration of many excited future Matadors.

With eyes wide and smiles beaming, the elementary students could not contain their joy as they formed an exultant line, eagerly awaiting the chance to shower the seniors with triumphant high fives, thunderous clapping, and resounding cheers, according to a parent organizer.

"I loved seeing my swim coaches and my babysitter in their caps and gowns!" said one Del Rey student. "I hope to go back to Del Rey when I'm in high school!"

Credit goes to the Class of 2023 Parent Advisors for creating and organizing the event that will become a tradition in the years to come.
