Glorious Hiking Photos Show Local Beauty
There's no need to book a flight or spend long hours in the car getting to a destination — take a look at the scenery here in the East Bay.
EAST BAY, CA —Many of us have stuck close to home for more than a year because of COVID-19 and its variants. But that doesn't mean we're deprived of beauty and travel opportunities.
Here are four photos shared by Patch readers that prove how extraordinary the scenery is right here in the East Bay.
The first two photos are from Bob Garaventa. He tells Patch, "I am an avid hiker and I photograph nature scenes during all my hikes. Here are a couple. One is from the Little Yosemite Trail looking up at the Castle Rocks in the Diablo Foothills Park that borders Mt. Diablo. Second, is a sunrise over the Lafayette Reservoir from a fishing platform."

The third snapshot is Niles Community Park, contributed by Matt King.
And the final photo, by Julie Castillo, was taken at Alameda Beach. Julie tells Patch, "I always try to catch beauty."
