Honoring Lafayette: The Teen Hero Who Fought for American Freedom
The Acalanes DAR & Lafayette Historical Society host events April 3 & 5 to honor Lafayette's legacy and his fight for freedom.
Did you know General Lafayette was just 19 years old when he fought for American freedom? His commitment to liberty didn’t end there—after aiding the American Revolution, he was imprisoned for five years during the French Revolution for his dedication to freedom.
The Acalanes Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Lafayette Historical Society invite the community to honor Lafayette’s legacy with two special events.
April 3 – Community Lecture on Lafayette
Lafayette expert Guy Noel Benoit will explore why Americans continue to honor Lafayette.

April 5 – Fife & Drum Procession & Wreath Laying
Join us for a procession and wreath-laying at Lafayette’s statue.
