Honoring Veterans with Wreaths Across America
Lafayette Cemetery Ceremony Canceled Due to High Winds; Plans Underway to Place Wreaths and Continue Tribute
The December 14th Wreaths Across America ceremony at Lafayette Cemetery was canceled out of an abundance of caution due to high winds and falling branches. The safety of attendees and volunteers is a priority.
Despite the cancellation, the Acalanes Chapter DAR and VFW Post 8063 are determined to honor our veterans. Plans are underway to place wreaths and say each veteran’s name aloud later this week, possibly with the assistance of local scout groups. We will share updates if volunteers are needed to help with this effort.
In the meantime, supporters can take advantage of a special wreath match offer from Wreaths Across America, available through January 17. Donations made using the designated link will be matched, doubling the impact and enabling us to honor twice as many veterans in 2025. With your help, we aim to place wreaths on over 335 veterans' graves next year.
