Hundreds In Lamorinda Hit By Power Outage

The electricity went out shortly after 10 a.m. Thursday in an unplanned outage.

LAMORINDA, CA — Nearly 600 PG&E customers were impacted by an unplanned power outage Thursday in Orinda.

The electricity first went out shortly after 10 a.m. and mostly affected the Orinda Country Club area.

As of 11:30 a.m., 592 customers remained without power and PG&E was assessing the cause at the outage location.

Although the utility provider initially estimated power would be restored by 5:45 p.m. Thursday, PG&E was able to fully restore power by 11:44 a.m., according to PG&E Spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian.

"At the peak, it impacted a total of 592 customers," Sarkissian told Patch. "The cause is under investigation."
