Juvenile Suspect Connected to String of Residential Burglaries in Moraga

Police said an alert neighbor called in to report suspicious activity in a nearby garage.

Moraga, CA— Police solved a series of Moraga burglaries Tuesday morning while responding to a report about a boy seen rummaging around in an open garage that he wasn't supposed to be in.

Officers responded to the Carroll Ranch area around 9:30 a.m. after someone reported seeing a juvenile inside the garage of an elderly neighbor.

Police spoke with the elderly resident, who said that things had been moved around in the garage but nothing was stolen. They also found the suspect, who admitted to being in the garage.

On further investigation, officers connected the boy to four other residential burglaries and one attempted burglary last week in the Buckingham neighborhood.

The juvenile was released to his mother, and police thanked the neighbor for calling the incident in.
