Lafayette Community Day Returns For Its 3rd Year Saturday
Volunteers will pitch in on various community improvement projects, play a few games, and get a free lunch Saturday.
LAFAYETTE, CA — Neighbors will gather Saturday for the third annual Lafayette Community Day, helping beautify the city while getting outdoors and making some new friends. Under the extended deadline, volunteers have until the end of Thursday to sign up and pick a project to lend their skills.
Organizers said this year's plan features more family-friendly projects, allowing more opportunities for youngsters to help out.
Attendees should plan to arrive by 8 a.m. to enjoy some free breakfast while learning about their project, and free parking will be available along Golden Gate Parkway. The first 100 arrivals will get a free commemorative t-shirt, and organizers ask volunteers who are able to bring some nonperishable food and gently used clothing to donate.
