MORAGA, CA — More than two dozen Bank of America locations in the Bay Area and over 100 across the nation are slated for closure by the end of 2024.

The Bank of America Financial Center 1400 Moraga Way in Moraga is among them. The location is already temporarily closed and will permanently close Jan. 30, 2024.

Colleen Haggerty, Bank of America senior vice president of marketing and global affairs, shared the reasoning behind the closures.

"Moraga is a leased property that had low customer traffic, so services will be consolidated to our Lafayette financial center a few miles away," Haggerty said.

"Today, people use digital banking more than ever for their everyday financial needs and come into financial centers for more complex transactions or discussions about their finances," she said. "So we have been adjusting our retail network where centers are located in close proximity to one another, or where client traffic has diminished significantly."
