Suspected Lamorinda Package Thieves Nabbed

LAMORINDA, CA -- Two suspects were arrested early Saturday morning for allegedly stealing packages off of someone's doorstep. Lamorinda Police said it arrested the suspects in a Dec. 31 crime.

The incident happened in the 700 block of Solana Drive for a theft where the homeowner told police several packages from Costco and Amazon were stolen. The homeowner released a surveillance video of the suspects to police, which allowed officers to track the suspects' car used in the crime.

The suspects, who are not from the area, were arrested around 4:53 a.m. when officers were alerted by the department's automated license plate readers.

Police said they believe the suspects returned to Lamorinda to steal more packages.
