Updated: Lockdown At Lafayette High School Reported

A search for a pair of auto burglary suspects in Lafayette this afternoon prompted a lockdown at a nearby private high school.

UPDATE 4:00PM-

Lafayette Police report they have now cleared the area, but that two suspects remain at large.

LAFAYETTE - A search for a pair of auto burglary suspects in Lafayette this afternoon prompted a lockdown at a nearby private high school, according to police.

According to Twitter reports, the lockdown was just lifted moments ago so students could leave Bentley Upper School.

Here's information released by Lafayette Police at 3:12 p.m.:

Release Bentley School Shelter in Place - Officers remain searching in the area of El Nido Ranch Rd and Pine Ln

Release Bentley School Shelter in Place Ok to let students out of classes - Officers remain searching in the area of El Nido Ranch Rd and Pine Ln for two subjects both Black Male Adults in dark clothing. re: Veh. Burgs. at this location today.

Officers remain tracking with a K-9 in the Pine Lane area at El Nido Ranch Road.

Officers are looking for two individuals will provide further information as we have it.

Lafayette police issued an advisory at 2:26 p.m. warning residents that there was police activity near El Nido Ranch and Upper Happy Valley roads.

Officers, including a K-9 unit, are searching for two men suspected in an auto burglary.

Because of the search, a shelter in place order was active at Bentley Upper School at 1000 Upper Happy Valley Road.

No other information was provided about the search.
