Orinda's Liam Dowd Graduates From West Point

Dowd is a 2019 graduate of Miramonte High School. At West Point, he majored in international affairs and minored in nuclear engineering.

WEST POINT, NY — Cadet Liam Breese Dowd, son of Mark and Kellian Dowd of Orinda, graduated May 27 from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Dowd is a 2019 graduate of Miramonte High School. While at West Point, he majored in international affairs with a minor in nuclear engineering. Dowd served as the captain of West Point’s Model United Nations team, which catapulted to No. 13 in the nation under his leadership.

Dowd was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the Field Artillery branch and will report to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington for his first assignment.
