Parks Job Fair For Lamorinda Youth This Saturday

LAMORINDA, CA — Lamorinda teens and young adults hoping to land jobs at East Bay Regional Parks are invited to participate in a Youth Job Fair this Saturday. The park district has both seasonal and year-round jobs available.
Positions include:
- Interpretive Student Aides.
- Public Safety Student Aides.
- Recreation Leaders.
- Lifeguards.
- Gate Attendants.
- Student Laborers.
The job fair is specifically targeting youth 15-24 years old.

"The Park District is proud to employ students in Alameda and Contra Costa counties, staffing approximately 300 seasonal positions every year," said Chief of Workforce Development Janelle Rodrigues. "There are some really phenomenal opportunities for young people to gain professional experience and pathways to careers in the Park District. We encourage youth and students in our community to apply and explore all that the Park District has to offer."
The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. via Zoom. Participants are encouraged to have their cameras on and dress appropriately as if they were attending a job fair in person. Presentations and discussions will include:

- Overview and tips on the application and interview process.
- A typical day in a position: job duties, scenarios, and the skills needed.
- Park locations, facilities, or offices for positions.
- Learn about the career pathways from those positions.
- What an ideal candidate looks like for a position.
Registration is required; the park district has a special Zoom Registration link.
The East Bay Regional Park District operates 73 parks in Alameda and Contra Costa counties covering 125,000 acres. The parks have 1,250 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and nature learning, as well as lakes, beaches and swim areas.
