Person Found Dead On BART Train

BART initially said a "major medical emergency" was causing major delays in the East Bay direction.

BAY AREA, CA — A person was found dead on a BART train Tuesday, according to a news report.

At 5:45 p.m., BART reported there was a major medical emergency at the Embarcadero station on the San Francisco Line causing a major delay in the East Bay direction.

At 6 p.m., BART said in an update that the earlier medical emergency on the SF Line resulted in delays in all directions.

According to KRON4, the Embarcadero station was briefly closed as a coroner responded to investigate. There were no signs of foul play in the death, BART told the news station.

BART did not post further information about the death.
