Person Trapped As Vehicle Collides With Tree Along Highway 24
At least two eastbound lanes of Highway 24 were closed in Lamorinda at the scene of the crash.

LAMORINDA, CA — Eastbound state Highway 24 was partially closed Friday morning at an Orinda offramp as a vehicle collided with a tree, trapping at least one person inside.
The victim was reportedly "conscious and alert" but needed to be extricated by fire personnel, according to California Highway Patrol dispatchers.
The crash was reported at 9:21 a.m. Friday at the offramp to St. Stephens Drive. The vehicle, described as a gray pickup truck, was "wrapped all the way around the tree," according to reports from the scene.

As of 10:10 a.m., ambulance and fire crews were at the scene. CHP reported that the two right lanes would be closed for up to one hour while a tow truck crew with a wrecker removed the pickup truck from the tree.
