MORAGA, CA — Residents of the Moraga Royale assisted living community received a treat—not a trick—this Halloween from students in kindergarten, first and second grades at The Saklan School.
Dressed in Halloween costumes, the students sang "Monster Mash," "Five Little Pumpkins," and other songs they learned in music class. Residents, guests and staff gathered in the Moraga Royale dining room to enjoy the spooky, spirited show.
"The students had a wonderful time sharing some of their favorite songs with the residents and loved seeing the smiles on the seniors’ faces," said Emily Williamson, director of communications for The Saklan School, which offers project-based, hands-on learning for preschool through eighth-grade students.
Second-grade teacher Yette Prizeman, who helped arrange the performance, said she "always looks forward to this yearly tradition."
"Singing to the seniors is the perfect activity for the students on such an exciting day and a great way for Saklan students to showcase their learning while giving back to the community," Prizeman said.
