Measure H, City Council, School Boards: Lamorinda Election Results

Voters have had their say on Lafayette and Orinda city council, Moraga school board and more local races.

LAMORINDA, CA — Were Lafayette residents willing to raise the sales tax by a half-cent? It appears that the answer is yes. By midnight Tuesday, Measure H was leading by 65.12-percent to 34.88-percent.

As of September, the California Secretary of State reported that 22,310,352 Californians were registered to vote, which accounts for almost 82.92 percent of the state's eligible voting population.

As of Sept. 6, 714,337 residents in Contra Costa County were registered to vote—nearly 90 percent of all eligible voters. Of those registered, 53.16 percent were Democrats, and 18.86 percent were Republicans, a slight rise from 18.31 percent in 2022.

Contra Costa County has the seventh-highest percentage of Democrats in the state, behind San Francisco, Marin, Santa Cruz, Alameda, Sonoma and San Mateo counties.
