Robbers Pepper-Spray Employee, Customers At Orinda Business: PD
Several male suspects stole multiple items in a smash-and-grab after pepper-spraying people at the business, police said.
ORINDA, CA — An employee and some customers of an Orinda business were pepper-sprayed by the suspects in a smash-and-grab robbery earlier this month, according to the Orinda Police Department.
Officers were dispatched at 11:44 a.m. Saturday, March 1, to the robbery at a business in the first block of Orinda Way, near Camino Pablo and Highway 24.
"Several male suspects entered a store and pepper-sprayed an employee and some customers," Orinda police said. "They fled after stealing multiple items."

Although the Orinda police checked the area and notified other law enforcement agencies, the suspects were not immediately located.
The victims received medical treatment at the scene.

Police did not disclose the name of the business that was robbed. However, news media reported it happened at Hilton House Consign and Design at 21 Orinda Way. A video posted by KTVU shows the robbers using a hammer to smash glass cases and steal merchandise from the consignment store.
