Sustainable Sunday: It's Party Time In Lafayette
The event gathers people who care about the planet and want to make Lafayette—and Moraga/Orinda —a greener, healthier place to live.

LAFAYETTE, CA — Sustainable Sunday — a fun party that gathers like-minded people who care about the planet and want to make Lafayette (and Moraga/Orinda) a greener, healthier place to live — is back.
The event is from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Lafayette Community Center, 500 St. Mary's Road in Lafayette. Come together and enjoy live music, local food, beer, wine, and an auction.
There are three local speakers lined up who will share their experiences and answer questions to help residents green their homes and gardens.

All proceeds will support Sustainable Lafayette, a local nonprofit organization.

- Organizing the Lafayette Earth Day festival;
- Hosting an annual eco-film series;
- Sponsoring the beloved Lafayette Community Garden; and
- Giving grants to local K-12 students to support earth-friendly projects in the Lamorinda area.
And every once in a while, the group throws a party that is casual, educational and fun.
Local favorites donating food and drinks for the party include Headlands Brewery, Buck Wild Brewery, Bay Keeper Wine, Rising Loafer, Metro, Diablo Foods, Local Kitchens, and Pho Beny.
Guest speaker Nancy Hu of the Lafayette Environmental Task Force will discuss rethinking our consumption, reducing and reusing the stuff we already have, and rewiring our homes.
Guest speaker Marian Woodard will present an opportunity to learn the most effective, most natural, deeply earth-centered gardening practices. Permaculture will help you grow more food with nature.
Guest speaker Brenna Shafizadeh of the Lafayette Environmental Task Force has completely remodeled three homes to be more energy-efficient. She and her husband, Jahan, will share practical tips to reduce our footprint to low-waste.
