The Weekender: Bethlehem Experience, Winter Choral Concert, Candlelight Christmas Service

Some events happening in the Lamorinda area this weekend

As you plan your weekend, here are some of the events happening in Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon.

On Thursday evening, traditional winter folk songs will be presented.

The performance by autoharp player Adam Miller begins at 6 p.m. in the community hall at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd.

Also on Thursday evening, the Acalanes Performing Arts will present its 2013 Winter Choral Concert.

The performance by the Choral Music Department begins at 7 p.m. at the Acalanes High Performing Arts Center, 1200 Pleasant Hill Road in Lafayette.

On Friday evening, an interactive tour of Jesus' birthplace will be presented.

The Bethlehem Experience begins at 5:30 p.m. at Lafayette United Methodist Church, 955 Moraga Road.

Groups of 10 people will be given tours of a re-enactment of the Bethlehem marketplace at the time of Christ's birth.

Also on Friday evening, candlelight Christmas service will be held.

"Light Up Your December" begins at 7 p.m. at Refuge Community Church, 155 Moraga Road in Moraga.

On Sunday morning, Santa Claus will visit the Moraga Certified Farmers Market.

The market is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Moraga Center at Moraga Road and Moraga Way.
