Acalanes Chapter DAR Invites Community to Reflect on Rosa Parks' Enduring Impact

(Library of Congress)

Our Acalanes Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, is honored to present a special Rosa Parks display at the Orinda Library — and we warmly invite our neighbors to stop by.
Created to celebrate Rosa Parks Day (December 1) and her enduring legacy, the display highlights the extraordinary courage of the woman whose simple act of refusing to give up her seat changed the course of American history. Through books, images, and educational materials, the exhibit reminds us that the pursuit of liberty and equality did not end with the Revolution — it continues with every generation. Rosa Parks inspires us still to stand up (or sit down!) for what is right.
📍 Location: Orinda Library (inside entrance)📅 On Display: Now through December 8
If you’re visiting the library or in downtown Orinda, please take a moment to stop by. It’s a meaningful way to reflect, learn, and share this story with children, teens, and anyone who appreciates the power of one brave voice.
