5 Marin Projects Get $37M Boost In State Funding

New investments from the California Transportation Commission will inject millions into Caltrans projects around the Bay Area.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — New funding allocated from state and federal coffers will support projects to reduce pollution, rehabilitate drainage systems, replace culverts and repair pavement around Marin County.

The California Transportation Commission recently announced $1.2 billion in new allotments for projects throughout California, including more than $37 million headed to Caltrans efforts in Marin.

Caltrans said $21 million of that money will support the construction of "full trash capture" devices around Larkspur, San Rafael and Sausalito, deploying mesh screens in rivers and other waterways to filter out trash and other pollutants.
