5 Things To Enjoy This Week: Sept. 19-25

Food, music and movies are some of the big things going on this week in our town.

Carpets of the Inner Circle
Pamella Cavanna and son, Conroy Cavanna will talk Thursday, 7 p.m., at the about how to select and care for an oriental rug. They will cover color, design, quality, rarity, condition and overall “feel”. They will also speak about how to care for your carpet including washing, restoration, rotating, storing and appraising a carpet.

Pick 'em fresh
Fresh fruits steal the show at the local farmers markets. Stop by the on Wednesday, noon-5 p.m., and on Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Movie Night
• The family-friendly Dolphin Tale opens Friday at the . A young boy befriends an injured dolphin and helps the dolphin to swim again with the aid of a new tail. Based on a true story.

• The A's might be out of the playoff race on the field, but their championship contenders in the movie theater. Brad Pitt plays Bill Beane, the architect of a winning A's squad in the true story Moneyball, which opens Friday at in Corte Madera.

Music Al Fresco
The Summer Music Series at the Corte Madera Town Center continues Sunday with Setchko & Meese, 2-4 p.m., in front of the clock tower. Relax and enjoy some lively tunes with your coffee.

Language of Flowers
Vanessa Diffenbaugh discusses her novel The Language of Flowers ($25.00) at Book Passage on Thursday, 1 p.m. Victoria Jones sleeps in a public park, where she plants a small garden. A local florist discovers her talents, and Victoria realizes she has a gift for helping others.
