Family fun ahead of the weekend

FARMERS MARKETS: Fresh berries steal the show at the local farmers markets. Stop by the Corte Madera Town Center on Wednesday, noon-5 p.m., and Marin Country Mart on Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

CALLING ALL PIEMAKERS! Bring your best pie to the big farmers market tent by 10 a.m. on Saturday at Marin Country Mart. Pie entries should be prepared in a disposable 9" pie tin. The title of your pie, your name, phone number, and pie recipe needs to accompany your entry. Pies will be judged on taste, presentation, and flakiness of crust. Fantastic prizes will be given to the winning pies.

FARMING BY THE BOOK: Larkspur Library Book Club will discuss the book Farm City by Novella Carpenter. Meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Larkspur Library.

NATIONAL THEATER: The Lark Theater will show the National Theater of London's production of 1 Man, 2 Guvners on Thurdsay at 7:30 p.m. The play is a twisting tale of crime, family and love.
