Bridge Work Continues This Week In Marin

Overnight work on U.S. 101 and State Route 131 will require a few detours this week in San Rafael, Mill Valley, Larkspur and Corte Madera.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — Caltrans crews are scheduled to complete a second week of nightly bridge maintenance around Larkspur, Corte Madera, San Rafael and Mill Valley.

Officials said lane and ramp closures will be necessary in those communities along portions of Highway 101 and Tiburon Boulevard (State Route 131) starting each night at 11 p.m. and concluding at 6 a.m. the following day through Saturday morning.

Maintenance crews will use that timeframe to replace old bridge concrete with polyester concrete at various locations.

  • Take Northbound US-101
  • Take the off-ramp to Second Street
  • Get back on the Second Street on-ramp to Southbound US-101
  • Take Southbound US-101 to Sir Francis Drake off-ramp

Second detour for Sir Francis Drake off-ramp closure in Larkspur

  • Take Northbound US-101
  • Take the off-ramp to Richmond Bridge/Francisco Boulevard
  • Take Bellam Boulevard to Francisco Boulevard West
  • Take Southbound US-101 and exit on Sir Francis Drake

Detour for NB US-101 Redwood Highway/Frontage closure in Corte Madera

  • Continue driving on Redwood Highway
  • Follow Tamalpais Drive to Northbound US-101 on-ramp

San Rafael

  • Alternating lanes will be closed on Northbound US-101 near the Francisco Boulevard overhead in San Rafael on Monday, Oct. 9 and Tuesday, Oct. 10 from 8 p.m. until 8 a.m. the next mornings. At least one lane will be open for traffic. There will be alternating lane closures on Southbound US-101 from Wednesday, Oct. 11 to Friday, Oct. 13 in the same area from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next mornings.

Mill Valley

  • There will be an on-ramp closure from Eastbound SR-131 to Northbound US-101 near Mill Valley from Wednesday, Oct. 11 to Friday, Oct. 13 from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next mornings. There will be a lane closed on the connector off-ramp from Southbound US-101 to Eastbound SR-131 on those same days from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next mornings.

Detour for NB US-101 to EB SR-131 closure

  • Take the diagonal on-ramp to Southbound US-101
  • Take the off-ramp to Eastbound Redwood Highway Frontage Road
  • Take Southbound Redwood Highway Frontage Road
  • Take the on-ramp to Northbound US-101
  • The on-ramp from Westbound SR-131 to Southbound US-101 will be closed from Wednesday, Oct. 11 to Friday, Oct. 13 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the next mornings. One lane will be closed on Eastbound SR-131 to the Westbound overcrossing on those same days from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Detour for Southbound US-101 to Westbound SR-131

  • Take the diagonal on-ramp for Northbound US 101
  • Take Northbound US-101
  • Take the off-ramp to Tamalpais Drive
  • Go Westbound on Tamalpais Drive
  • Loop onto on-ramp for Southbound US-101
