Tell us why they deserve to be nominated!
The Marin History Museum has been fortunate to draw dedicated volunteers who donate their time and energy to bettering the organization, but it’s very rare to find one as young as Jake Gotlieb. Jake came to the Museum at the end of his sophomore year in high school. He started in the newspaper clippings, working on cataloging hundreds of stories and soon we realized he was very capable. Lori Deibel, our research librarian, noticed that with his honest joy in learning history along with his maturity, tech savvy and attention to detail he could be trusted with far more. He has worked on a huge archive project covering the Herzog family of San Rafael for nine months. Jake has always been a history and genealogy buff but he has told us that volunteering at the museum brought him closer to the history here in Marin where he has grown up. This Fall Jake will be off to his first choice University in Southern California. We will miss him greatly, but we could not be happier for him. We all look forward to learning about his undoubtedly, very bright future.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?
Jake is passionate about history and we are thrilled to have him as our summer intern!
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Jake Gotlieb!
