Samuel Max Cohen, MD, PhD Joins MarinHealth ENT, Head & Neck Surgery

MarinHealth today announced that otolaryngologist Samuel Max Cohen, MD, PhD has joined MarinHealth’s ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) team. Dr. Cohen treats disorders of the nose and sinuses, including septoplasty and sinus surgery; mouth and throat, including tonsillectomy and excision of lesions; ears, including ear tubes and ear drum repair; and neck, including thyroid and parotid surgery. He will see patients at the MarinHealth ENT, Head & Neck Surgery clinic in Santa Rosa.

Dr. Cohen completed his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck residency and internship at Stanford Health Care. He attended medical school at the New York University School of Medicine and also earned a PhD in Neuroscience & Physiology at New York University.

Dr. Cohen chose the ENT field because he loves talking to people, helping people, and fixing problems. He typically begins treatment with medication or behavioral changes before moving to surgery if appropriate. He listens to patients to understand their concerns and works with each patient to best optimize their health.

Dr. Cohen grew up in the Northeast and fell in love with Northern California after moving to the area for his internship and residency at Stanford. Outside of the office, he loves to hike, make art, read novels, eat good food, travel, and spend time with his wife and puppy.
