Trustee Seat Available on Governing Board
This communication is to announce the resignation of Jill Sellers from the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District Board of Trustees after the March 9, 2022 Board Meeting. Jill has served on the Board since 2016 and has been Board President for the last several years. She has also served on many District committees (District Leadership Alliance and the Fiscal Advisory Committee, to name a few), as well as being the District’s Liaison to the City of Larkspur, and as a valuable member of Marin County’s Efficiency and Effectiveness Collaborative and Joint Legislative Action Committee.
COVID-19 was challenging in itself and leading a school district was far from an easy task. Jill led by putting students first, equity, science, and trusting our local experts at Marin County Public Health. This leadership proved to be an exemplar where LCMSD COVID response governance team successes were shared as a model via the California School Boards Association. Jill has dedicated countless hours to the students, families, and staff in our learning community. She is a strong believer in clear and transparent communication. Jill creates a space for all stakeholders to be heard, is able to facilitate conversations where a variety of perspectives are present, and shares her expertise with our greater community through local publications. She led when the community needed her most. We thank her for her service to the District. Please join me in wishing her the best with her family and her future endeavors. She will be greatly missed.
