Established in 1866, the 158th Scottish Highland Gathering and Games continues a proud Bay Area tradition, offering premier Scottish competition, entertainment, and culture for the whole family to enjoy. This year’s Games feature top-tier Scottish Heavy Athletics, Piping and Drumming, Highland Dancing, and Soccer competitions. Attendees will be treated to live performances by Scottish folk singers, Celtic rock bands, fiddlers, and harpists, along with a daily grandstand show showcasing special guest pipe and military bands and the popular 'massed pipe bands.' In the Glen of the Clans, clan members display their tartans and family heritage, while visitors can further explore Scotland’s rich history in the Living History re-enactment area. Additional attractions include sheepdog trials, birds of prey and Celtic animal exhibitions (including Highland cows), and a display of vintage British cars. A host of vendors will offer Scottish sweet and savory treats such as scones, cakes, pies, Scotch eggs, bangers (sausages), and fish and chips, as well as Scottish goods like kilts, tartan-ware, and jewelry. Visitors aged 21 and over can also enjoy a selection of Scotch and other whiskies at the whisky tasting venue.
