The San Joaquin coroner confirmed the identities of four people who died along Highway 120 in Manteca following a fiery car wreck.
LIVERMORE, CA — The San Joaquin County Coroner confirmed that the four people who died in a fiery crash Saturday in Manteca were all Livermore residents.
San Joaquin County Investigator Christy Patterson identified the deceased as Arriaga Negrete, 44; Liliana Mendoza, 40; Jorge Negrete Guerrero, 12; and David Negrete Guerrero, four months old.
The accident occurred Saturday night along Highway 120, according to numerous reports citing the California Highway Patrol. A 2011 Toyota Sienna minivan was traveling about 65 mph on a damp road, before it lost control and struck the center median of the highway. The minivan then continued west before becoming airborne. It hit an overpass, overturned, and caught fire.

Nearby good Samaritans managed to pull four children out of the car. A six-year-old girl, 14-year-old girl, and nine-year-old boy were taken to the hospital with major injuries. The rest of the passengers succumbed to their injuries.
A friend started a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses and help the surviving children. According to the author, Arriaga and Liliana planned to move into a larger home to support their growing family.

“Our hearts ache with grief as we also stand for the three young children who remain in critical condition, fighting for their lives,” the organizer wrote. “The loss of Bonifacio, Liliana, Jorge, and David has left us shattered, with unimaginable pain and uncertainty about the future. As family and friends, we are struggling to come to terms with this devastating loss.”
As of Wednesday, the campaign has raised $13,948 out of a $65,000 goal.
