LIVERMORE, CA — The southbound lanes of Vasco Road north of Dalton Avenue in Livermore have been closed due to fallen telephone poles, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP said that as of 8 a.m., one-way traffic remains in place with no estimated reopening time.

The situation began around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, when a driver reported a powerline hanging low over Vasco Road, according to the CHP log. A second power pole was found leaning into the road, though wires appeared intact.

Local police and fire shut down lanes based on the hazard, and the Alameda County Fire Department instructed the Livermore Police Department to shut down the entire road.

As of 8:30 a.m., AT&T had still not provided an estimated time frame. CHP said they left numerous messages without any callback.
