Axis Opens New Community Health Clinic in Downtown Livermore

Axis Community Health has marked a transformative moment in Tri-Valley healthcare with the grand opening of its integrated care facility at 1686 Second Street in Livermore. This state-of-the-art clinic, Axis's sixth location and first comprehensive healthcare hub, brings primary medical care, dental services, behavioral health support, and enrollment assistance under one roof.

The clinic's opening strengthens the local healthcare safety net by expanding access to preventative care services, reducing wait times for essential medical services, and providing culturally responsive care to diverse populations. The new 8,800 square-foot facility showcases comprehensive healthcare delivery with six fully equipped dental operatories featuring the latest technology, eight modern medical examination rooms, and three specialized mental health counseling spaces.

With a projected annual capacity of 18,000 total patient visits, the clinic will provide an estimated 9,000 medical appointments, 6,800 dental procedures, and 2,200 mental health consultations. Axis patients also have access to Care Coordinators who can assess their needs and connect them to resources like healthy meals and transportation to appointments. Liz Perez-Howe, Axis’s Chief Executive Officer, explains, “This integrated model allows Axis's medical, dental, and behavioral health teams to collaborate seamlessly, resulting in better outcomes for patients. By bringing these multiple services under one roof, we are able to address a patient’s whole-person health."

Axis Community Health data shows that 39% of their patients reside in Livermore, making it their most populated patient area.
