Coroner IDs Elderly Woman Killed in Crash on I-580 in Livermore

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to fire officials.

LIVERMORE, CA — An elderly woman who died after the minivan she was in went down an embankment off of Interstate Highway 580 near Livermore on Sunday morning has been identified as Rosario Ordillas, according to the Alameda County coroner's bureau.

Ordillas, a 79-year-old Modesto resident, was in a minivan that had been traveling west on Highway 580, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Around 9:45 a.m., the minivan was approaching Greenville Road when it veered off the roadway and went about 100 feet down an embankment, causing it to land on its side, Alameda County Fire Department officials said. Ordillas was pronounced dead at the scene, according to fire officials.

The driver of the minivan, a woman, was taken to a hospital with major injuries. An update on her condition was not immediately available.
