LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District said it has closed all district facilities and canceled all classes and programs until April 13 to comply with Alameda County's shelter-in-place order aimed at slowing the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In addition, district officials said facility rentals, both indoor and outdoor, are canceled until April 7.

Park officials said people should keep in mind that the coronavirus situation is fluid and the dates are subject to change. The district said staff will contact rental applicants and program participants to communicate the cancellation of services and to process refunds.

All district parks and open spaces are open to the public but district officials encourage social distancing of at least 6 feet between people.

The district said it will continue to offer basic services in the parks such as trash pickup, but said people should keep the parks clean and adopt a "pack-in, pack-out" mindset because normal service levels may be impacted by the shelter-in-place order.
