Cat Rescued, Two Snakes Killed In Livermore House Fire

Fire officials said two people were displaced as a result of the fire.

LIVERMORE, CA — Two pet snakes were killed and a cat was rescued in a fire that destroyed a house early Sunday morning leaving two people displaced in Livermore, according to fire officials. Alameda County firefighters responded to reports of a home on fire in the 20000 block of Midway Road just after 3:30 a.m.

Fire officials said Tracy firefighters were called in to assist with the fire that had spread through the entire home and into the attic. According to fire officials, there were no injuries to the residents or firefighters reported, however two pet snakes died and a cat was resuscitated by fire personnel on scene.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the two displaced occupants. Fire officials said the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
