Ex-Con Carrying Fentanyl, Loaded Gun Arrested: Livermore Police

A convicted felon was arrested in Livermore Friday for reportedly possessing numerous drugs and a loaded handgun, police said.

LIVERMORE, CA —A convicted felon was arrested in Livermore on charges of possessing drugs and a loaded handgun, according to the Livermore Police Department.

On Friday just after 10 p.m., Livermore police stopped the driver of a BMW SUV near Vasco Road and Northfront Road for a traffic violation, police said. During the stop, the officer reportedly noticed items inside the vehicle "consistent with drug sales." A K9 was called in, and alerted officers to the presence of drugs. A subsequent search uncovered approximately three ounces of cocaine, prescription pills, fentanyl, and a loaded 9mm handgun, police said.

The driver, a 48-year-old man from Oakland, was arrested on multiple gun and drug-related charges, and booked into Santa Rita Jail. Police said he is a convicted felon.
