Coronavirus: 888 Cases In Alameda County; 22,348 Statewide

Alameda County has the third-highest number of COVID-19 cases, behind Santa Clara County and San Francisco County.

BAY AREA, CA — The latest developments around the region related to the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, as of Monday afternoon include: The Concord City Council on Tuesday will consider slashing its own members' pay by 10 percent, in recognition of an already challenging city financial outlook made worse by the effects of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic on area businesses and households.

The Contra Costa Regional Health Foundation has been chosen as a lead partner supporting a new regional "COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund" to help Bay Area residents adversely impacted by fallout from the novel coronavirus. The Rapid Response Fund is supporting four key areas - food distribution, financial assistance, shelter and emergency housing and support for essential workers.

The annual Easter Sunrise Service at the historic Mt. Davidson Landmark Park and Cross in San Francisco was canceled this year due to the novel coronavirus shelter-in-place order, the first cancellation since the tradition was established in 1923. But part of the tradition, the lighting of the cross on the night before Easter, was continued Saturday into Sunday. The cross was illuminated in blue light in support of healthcare workers.

Alameda County: 888 cases, 23 deaths (806 cases, 21 deaths on Saturday)

Contra Costa County: 552 cases, 11 deaths (530 cases, 11 deaths on Saturday)

Marin County: 164 cases, 10 deaths (153 cases, 10 deaths on Saturday)

Monterey County: 87 cases, 3 deaths (79 cases, 3 deaths on Saturday)

Napa County: 34 cases, 2 deaths (34 cases, 2 deaths on Saturday)

San Francisco County: 957 cases, 15 deaths (857 cases, 13 deaths on Saturday)

San Mateo County: 702 cases, 21 deaths (652 cases, 21 deaths on Saturday)

Santa Clara County: 1,666 cases, 60 deaths (1,484 cases, 50 deaths on Saturday)

Santa Cruz County: 91 cases, 1 death (82 cases, 1 death on Saturday)

Solano County: 121 cases, 2 deaths (121 cases, 2 deaths on Saturday)

Sonoma County: 147 cases, 2 deaths (145 cases, 2 deaths on Saturday)

Statewide: 22,348 cases, 687 deaths (21,524 cases, 599 deaths on Saturday)
