Driver Killed Near Livermore As Car Veers Off 580 Embankment: CHP
A man was killed Tuesday morning near the North Flynn Road exit, marking the second traffic fatality near Livermore in less than a week.
LIVERMORE, CA — A man died early Tuesday when his car veered off an embankment near the North Flynn Road exit of I-580, California Highway Patrol reports.
The incident marks the second traffic fatality near Livermore in less than a week.
The incident occurred at around 7:17 a.m. Tuesday after a black Ford Edge traveling eastbound on 580 lost control, according to CHP Officer Tyler Hahn. Witnesses told authorities that the SUV was traveling at over 100 mph in the far left lane then lost control, traveling right across all lanes before going down the embankment.

The roughly 25 to 30-year-old driver was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead, according to CHP. His name has not been released as of Wednesday afternoon.
On Thanksgiving, the passenger of a Honda Civic was killed about three miles away from the scene of Tuesday’s accident, after the driver attempted to change lanes and hit an oncoming vehicle. The victim was identified Tuesday as 30-year-old Sreeja Nagirimadugu of Fremont.
