DUI Checkpoint Nets 4 Arrests

The checkpoint was was held from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. on northbound North Livermore Avenue at Cromwell Street.

A total of 1,337 vehicles were contacted at the checkpoint.
Officers administered 22 field sobriety tests to drivers who exhibited some sign of having consumed alcohol or who admitted to having consumed alcohol prior to driving.

- A total of three drivers were arrested on suspicion of DUI.
- One driver was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
- Sixteen drivers were found to be driving with either a suspended license or being unlicensed and their vehicles were impounded.
This DUI checkpoint was planned well in advance, but was located just one block south of the intersection of North Livermore Avenue and Las Positas Road, which was the site of a violent collision on Tuesday, Aug. 23 in which .
