UPDATE: Kids Taken From North Livermore Avenue SUV Rollover

SUV rolled several times off Interstate 580 off ramp, according to CHP.

Emergency crews have finished working at the scene of a solo vehicle accident off North Livermore Avenue that injured two children and left two others trapped.

The SUV appeared to have rolled several times off the North Livermore Avenue westbound off ramp from Interstate 580.

Two children were taken away by ambulance on stretchers at about 11 a.m. The driver and a front seat passenger were trapped in the vehicle and fire crews used Jaws of Life tools to get them out, Livermore Fire Battalion Chief Joe Testa said.

The injuries are considered moderate and not life threatening, Testa said.

The injured were taken to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley as a precaution, Testa said.

Fire officials at about 11 a.m. closed down a portion of North Livermore Avenue to allow an emergency helicopter to land.

The driver was a woman and was transported to the hospital via helicopter. The other front seat passenger was a minor and was taken in an ambulance.

The scene was cleared at about 11:40 a.m.
