Family Confirms Livermore Man As Victim In Hayward Shooting: Report
Shawn Freeman, 42, was fatally shot at an encampment behind an industrial complex.
LIVERMORE, CA — A 42-year-old man from Livermore was identified by his family as the victim in an early December shooting in Hayward, according to reports.
Shawn Freeman, a former Livermore resident, was reportedly unhoused and at an encampment behind an industrial complex in Hayward when he was shot, his family said in a social media post, Pleasanton Weekly reported.
On Dec. 7, at around 11:45 p.m., officers received reports of a shooting behind the complex near the 25000 block of Industrial Boulevard, the Hayward Police Department said in a news release.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found an adult man suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics provided medical treatment and he was later taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His name was not released by the department and police said they had not arrested anyone related to the incident. It is the city's 14th homicide of the year, the department said.
