Fire Near Los Vaqueros Reservoir Extinguished

Breaking: Livermore-Pleasanton Fire crews battled the blaze from the east side of Vasco Road.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — Fire crews from three agencies battled a four-acre grassfire in unincorporated Contra Costa County near the Los Vaqueros Reservoir on Thursday. At about 4:30 p.m., crews from Cal Fire, Alameda County and the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded to reports of a fire on the east side of Vasco Road, about a half-mile north of the entrance to the reservoir, according to Cal Fire Division Chief Jim Crawford.

Firefighters managed to contain the blaze by about 6 p.m. and left the area by about 8:30 p.m., Crawford said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
